The fancy dan colour coding of item priorities was broken (CSS typo) in the list view. This is now fixed - apologies for any confusion.
Parent/Child Items
03-Jul-07
zenlists now supports adding a parent or multiple child items to an item. For example, if you have a “PROJECTS” list, each item in this list can now have multiple items associated with it.
The number of items associated with an item is now displayed in the main list view (if there are any) - this is very handy for GTD as it gives you an overview of any projects that do not have any actions.
Squelch
23-Feb-07
A couple of bugs have just been trodden on :
- the hosting server was upgraded to Rails 1.2.2 this week which caused problems logging in
- on Firefox a bug prevented the dynamic “Delete|Move To|Set Priority” options from appearing
Let me know if there are any other nasties lurking.
New! URL Field support
29-Jan-07
Items in zenlists now support a new URL field in which you can place an optional web link of interest.
If set, a new “URL” link appears in the item display that when clicked takes you to that page.
The QuickAdd bookmarklet has also been updated, it will now place the URL of the page you are viewing automatically in this new field.
Freely available Demo Account
24-Jan-07
You can now try the app without the hassle of registration by going directly to demo login from the home page.
Thanks to Jigar Gosar of SimpleGTD for showing me the benefits of this.
Improvements for Firefox
22-Jan-07
The app no longers displays the text selection mouse pointer when hovering over an item in a list when using Firefox.
It should now be clearer that selecting an item actually does something.
Minor UI Updates
20-Jan-07
The ‘Sort By’ list options are now available next to the ‘Change List Title’ option.
Also, the list manipulation items options now only appear if more than one item is selected.
These lead to a slightly less cluttered interface
QuickAdd updated
19-Jan-07
The QuickAdd bookmarklet has been updated so that any selected text on the page will be used as the “Note” of the item your adding. You will need to bookmark the link again to get this benefit.
A picture…
17-Jan-07
Quick update - I’ve amended the zenlists front page to include some pictures of the app being used in earnest (my GTD setup can be found by looking at the left-hand side menu in the pics).
zenlists is launched
16-Jan-07
Yep - it’s out there, released early, and a bit rough around the edges but I’m interested if anyone else finds it useful.
Believe me, I’ve tried other online to-do list type applications, but in the end I had to write my own, none of the others quite ‘felt’ right to my way of thinking. Maybe zenlists will suit you too?
