New! URL Field support

Items in zenlists now support a new URL field in which you can place an optional web link of interest.

If set, a new “URL” link appears in the item display that when clicked takes you to that page.

The QuickAdd bookmarklet has also been updated, it will now place the URL of the page you are viewing automatically in this new field.

Freely available Demo Account

You can now try the app without the hassle of registration by going directly to demo login from the home page.

Thanks to Jigar Gosar of SimpleGTD for showing me the benefits of this.

Improvements for Firefox

The app no longers displays the text selection mouse pointer when hovering over an item in a list when using Firefox.

It should now be clearer that selecting an item actually does something.

Minor UI Updates

The ‘Sort By’ list options are now available next to the ‘Change List Title’ option.

Also, the list manipulation items options now only appear if more than one item is selected.

These lead to a slightly less cluttered interface :-)

QuickAdd updated

The QuickAdd bookmarklet has been updated so that any selected text on the page will be used as the “Note” of the item your adding. You will need to bookmark the link again to get this benefit.

A picture…

Quick update - I’ve amended the zenlists front page to include some pictures of the app being used in earnest (my GTD setup can be found by looking at the left-hand side menu in the pics).

zenlists is launched

Yep - it’s out there, released early, and a bit rough around the edges but I’m interested if anyone else finds it useful.

Believe me, I’ve tried other online to-do list type applications, but in the end I had to write my own, none of the others quite ‘felt’ right to my way of thinking. Maybe zenlists will suit you too?

Please let me know what you think, either through the contact form on the main site or via the brand spanking new discussion forums.

Hello, world.
